The Medusa Training team of over eighteen people providing our academies education, is founded on experience and qualifications, covering all aspects of the hairdressing industry.
With over 200 years experience between them in a variety of roles, they have the right and varied backgrounds to ensure any learner or professional benefits from the education they deliver.
Many have been salon owners and all educators still run hairdressing columns - an important factor for Medusa Training, as it is essential that all educators understand and still work in a commercial environment so they can support the individual in their journey, helping them to to become an ambassador for themselves, their salon and their industry.
The team continually develop their own skills by entering competitions. Two have been Wella Trend Vision finalists, while others have worked at London Fashion Week and continually been involved with manufacturers, delivering education as ambassadors.
The senior team has experience of high-level involvement in the industry. This includes Anne Miller, the Habia Scotland Chairperson, with oversight of development of the standards on which S/NVQ’s are based. Likewise, Ross Miller currently runs a successful government-funded training centre for S/NVQ Level 2 and Level 3, and works with local schools running S/NVQ Level 1 courses. The whole team holds Level 4 qualifications, as well as the relevant teaching qualifications for trainers, assessors and Internal Quality Assurance (IQA).
Our operations team between them holds a suite of HR, management, legal and financial qualifications.
Medusa Training has a comprehensive education plan for each of its educators to ensure they are continually developing their skills. Several of their educators have the Wella Master Colour Award MCA and Master Colour Expert MCE.
The trainers have developed a quality assurance system praised by awarding organisations and funding agencies, while the team have developed training resources for learners to ensure that they fully understand the commerciality of what they have been taught ad the impact on themselves, the client and the salon they work in.

'Learning should be challenging, and we aim to push learners to be the best they can be, for themselves and for their peers and employers. For those that rise to the challenge, we offer support, mentoring and guidance so that they have the skills and understanding to contribute to and be a success in even the toughest salon environment.’ Colin McAndrew
Ross Miller has been hairdressing for over 24 years in hairdressing and is the MD of Renella hairdressing. Ross is an active member of the Fellowship of British Hairdressers.
'We want learning to be inspirational and enjoyable. We'll work with learners to establish their preferred learning method, and then gently push them so they get the most from the experience. We'll also teach them to respect the job, their colleagues, their customers, but most importantly themselves so that they have the confidence within them to achieve anything.' Ross Miller
